  • Macie Pisa

    Ever have that customer that doesn’t really know what they want? They give you no direction other than “make him look cute!” Macie will show you how to easily bring out every dog’s personality and find their signature “look.” Learn to give customers a cut that is easy to maintain without skimping on style. Every appointment will end with, “That’s exactly what I wanted!”

    In this seminar, Macie will go through proper handling techniques to apply to your “every dog” routine, as well as what to do in extreme cases that need that extra bit of care. Macie will show you how to assess the “why” of what sets a dog off so you can help to reduce the stress and start working towards a happy and safe grooming experience.

    Learn the ABC’s of Poodle grooms with GroomTeam member Macie Pisa. Before starting the groom, it is important to learn the dog’s unique shape and create a plan. This live demo will go over the basics of structure, angles, and achieving a balanced cut that compliments the dog’s conformation. Macie breaks down the process into easy-to-follow steps that are sure to improve your skill set.

    The most important step in approaching a double coated groom is prep work. Macie Pisa, winner of Pooch Perfect, will demonstrate how to properly prep a double coated breed to achieve a smooth finish. Macie will then show you tips on how to accomplish the perfect haircut, and teach you how double coats can double your money!

    Learn to turn those "little white crusty" dogs to puffy perfection, with this one hour demo Macie will teach you to round up those heads and give the perfect bichon butt lift.

    Ever wanted to make maintaining fluffy dogs easier for you and the dogs? In this one hour class Macie will go over Dealing with a matted coat as well and discussing with a client when to start fresh and how to start them on the path to a perfect maintenance schedule for their furry friend.

    Learn from Groomteam member Macie Pisa how to start and keep competing. Together we will go over making your lists and packing your bags so you're prepared for anything.  We will also go over the dos and don't of traveling with dogs and where to find the right dog for the ring. This will be the perfect chance to ask all your burning questions and meet some like minded groomers in your area!

    You've heard "don't poodle my doodle" but has anyone ever said "Don't bedlington my poodle"? I think NOT! 

    They are cute and unique and a challenge, let Macie help demystify the bedlington trim and help you put bits and pieces if not the whole trim on your clients to help create easy to maintain fun flashy pets in your salon!

    Ever looking through your tool drawer feeling lost or overwhelmed? In this 1 hr seminar we will go over when to use what combs and brushes. And help you avoid over use injuries from incorrect techniques. We will also go over proper fluffing techniques to help improve your finish work and longevity of your trims!

    • Time allowance 2 hours for any breeds of any size!

    • Acceptable Breeds

    • Any breed, any size, including mixed breeds that require either a haircut or hand stripping.

    •  Short haired or double coated breeds are not acceptable.

    • Any trims are permitted

    •  20% of color and accessories are  permitted

    • Poodles in a poodle trim can have their feet shaved prior to the competition

    • The dogs must have at least 6 weeks of hair growth or substantial amount of hair to show the difference

    • 2 hours are permitted for the competition

    • Team Work

    • Safety of the dog handling

    • Topic of the groom in relation to the presentation and trim ( if applicable)

    • Prep Work (Nails, Feet, Sanitary trim, ears)

    • Balance and Symmetry

    • Breed Profile if applicable

    • Technique

    • Amount of coat and transformation

    • Level of difficulty of the trim

    • Finish

    • Presentation

    • Let the fun begin

    • 3pm check in and pre-judging

    • 3:30pm Competition Starts

    • 5:30 pm Scissors Down. Present Your Dog

    • 5:35pm-6pm Evaluation

    •  6:15 pm  Final Judging and Awards

  • Pet Store Direct Gift Certificates

    • First Place: $200 ($100 + $100)

    • Second Place: $150 ($75 + $75)

    • Third Place: $100 ($50 + $50)
